What are your Hours?

We are open 7 days a week.

Pre Season Hours: April 1st - May 15th 8-5PM.

Busy Season Hours: May 15th - October 15th 7-6PM.

Late Season Hours: October 15th - November 7th 8-5PM.

When do the campgrounds open?

The campgrounds are operated by Thousand Trails Company and open May 1st of each season.

How can I rent in the campground? How can I reserve a campground?

We do not manage campgrounds. They are managed by Thousand Trails. Please go to ReserveUSA.com

Is there a hiking trail around the lake? How Long is it and How Hard?

Yes, the trail is 5.2 miles around the lake, on average it takes about 2 hours to complete. The hiking trail is rated easy to medium.

Is it a swimming lake?

No, Woods Canyon Lake is managed as a trout fishery. Some people swim in the lake but it is not recommended.

Is there Free Camping?

Yes, Dispersed camping is available on the Forest Rd 300 west of Woods Canyon Lake.

Where Can I Park?

Woods Canyon Lake Store offers free parking to first come first serve customers. Fee Parking is managed by Thousand Trails for a nominal fee.

Facts:

*There are bathrooms located in parking lots and campgrounds and do not have running water.

*There are no public trash cans. Pack it in, pack it out. Thousand Trails has a dump station for trash and Rv’s for a fee.

*There is no phone line or cell phone service at the store.

*The closest gas station is 10 miles away in Forest Lakes.

*The store parking lot closes at 7pm.

Is the forest currently open, and what are your hours?

We are located in the Apache Sitgreaves National Forest (ASNF). Our area & roads towards Bear Canyon Lake are open at this time (5/25/2018). Some sections of the ASNF are currently closed. Please visit https://www.fs.usda.gov/asnf for more information.

STAGE 2 FIRE RESTRICTIONS ARE CURRENTLY IN EFFECT. 

NO CAMPFIRES OR CHARCOAL, PROPANE STOVES & FIRE RINGS ARE STILL ALLOWED. FIRE RESTRICTIONS WILL REMAIN IN EFFECT UNTIL ADEQUATE PRECIPITATION OCCURS.
